Moderated jaws with tooltips

Hello all,

I was wondering what jaws calls the tooltips? For example, it will say something like FS Reader 3.0, after a pause, it might give the location. I was wondering where that setting was. I also don't know what it's called. I know it's called tooltips in NVDA, which is what I'm used to, but I'm slowly but surely making my way over to jaws.

The, Tool Tip setting for Jaws is in your Settings Center or in the Settings Center default all applications Speech Verboscity folder.  To get there try the following.
1. A. If you want to change this setting only for a particular application open the Settings Center by invoking the, Insert + 6, on the number row keystroke.
B. If you want to change this setting for all application open the Settings Center by invoking the, Insert + 6, on the number row keystroke, then press, control,
shift + D, to open Settings Center default all applications.

2. Down arrow to, Speech Verboscity closed and right arrow to open.

3. Down arrow 1 time and you'll hear, Verboscity level ... , the ... will be your verboscity level.  It's probably on Beginner highest.  This is important to know for the next step so you know what level to work with.

4. Down arrow 1 time to, Configure Verboscity Level closed, and right arrow to open.

5. Down arrow to the level you're running and press the spacebar.  Note:  Do Not press enter, press the spacebar!  If you press enter you'll get kicked out of the Settings Center because Jaws will think you're done in here and close.

6. After pressing the spacebar you'll be in a list of items that can be checked or unchecked to turn on or off.  The, Tool tip, item is at the bottom.

7. After or if you make any changes tab to, Okay, press the spacebar, tab to, Apply, press the spacebar and tab to, Okay and press the spacebar or enter to save your changes and close.

Stay safe & take care.  Mike.

A minor mistake, line, 1. A. , should read:
1. A. If you want to change this setting only for a particular application open the Settings Center by invoking the, Insert + 6, on the number row keystroke while in the application / program you want to work with.

Mike:

In step 7 of your instructions, I suggest it should read:

7. If you make any changes and you want to save them, tab to the Apply button,  (do not press the ENTER key), instead, press the SPACEBAR, to apply the changes, then, tab to the OK button, press the SPACEBAR or the Enter key, to activate the  OK button, which will close the settings center.
