Hi, Edge will come on your new machine, it is a part of windows. I've never been in the app store so I don't know what it offers. As for the other web browsers you find them on their own web sites. If when you get your machine you let us know which browser your interested in then people will be able to give you the web address to download it from.

How does one get these various browsers? Is it through the App Store, or does one go to a website to download onto one’s computer? Any help in guidance will be most appreciated. Thanks in advance. Hi, James. Have you tried uninstalling Chrome completely, then reinstalling it? What I mean by completely uninstalling Chrome is this:
When you uninstall Chrome through either Control Panel>Programs and Features, or via Settings>Apps and Features, Windows leaves behind some folders and files that belong to Google Chrome. If you type into the "Run" dialog the following command, %userprofile%\AppData\local and remove the "Google" folder, without the quotes, you can get a completely clean reinstall of Chrome. Perhaps this could solve your Google Chrome intermittent crashing problem.

Hi Steve,
I only like it more because of Chrome's odd love of crashing on this computer which I can't explain. It's a very modern i7 system with windows 10 and jaws 2021, but sometimes chrome will just exit without warning.

I would have to say google chrome, although it's a bit buggy on some computers. IE is still the best accessibility-wise but Microsoft has decided nobody is allowed to use it from next year.

hi, Thanks to those who answered my earlier question about windows 10 versus Windows 11. I will be sticking with windows 10, thanks to your unanimous opinions! when I last used a PC, I was using Internet explorer. That is no longer an option. I am curious as to which Web browsers people recommend for best use with Jaws. Thanks in advance for any insights. Keith

Well, the Microsoft store may at some point offer third party browsers, as they are now opening to desktop apps, but as far as I know, as of now they don't. Doesn't matter to me; I hardly use the store at all anyway. You can go to the respective websites of each browser to download them. Firefox can be gotten from mozilla.org. And chrome is, of course, available from Google's website. I really don't think it's a big deal what browser(s) you decide to use. So longa s they're regularly maintained, and it works well for you, just go for it. There isn't really a whole lot of difference between them, especailly the Chromium-based ones that make up the majority nowadays. But even going from Firefox to Chromium -- I don't think that, from the perspective of most users, there's going to be a huge difference in your experience. Small things here and there, sure, and maybe that's why you will move between two browsers on a regular basis.
