Hello:
Well, I’d say that most of it is accessible to nonvisual users. Very few things we can’t do with it which mot folks wouldn’t use anyway.

It is accessible to a JAWS user. There is a few differences, but if you are already familiar with Office, you should be just fine.

Hi Billy, I believe you just can’t pay a subscription only for Outlook 365. You basically subscribe to Microsoft 365, and you can use a bunch of apps, included Outlook. Why don’t you just try it out? I’m pretty sure Microsoft gives a 1-month free trial. I can tell you from my experience that the most difficult part to use Outlook is probably the learning curve if you have never used it before. There are many personal settings that I would not like to loose, but I tell you, I will probably never come back to Thunderbird.
Best, Leo Bado.

Billy,
Outlook in 365 is just about identical to a copy downloaded into your computer. For future reference, Outlook is one of the programs which is part of the Office 365 package. Smile.

Hareth
Thunderbird is near fully accessible with jaws.

I don't know how do you and some others flatly say "not accessible" about an app that had been used for years by many of us, and accessible ones for that matter. BTW, thunderbird's menus by far easier to use than those in current outlook.

Hi Hareth, I agree with you on the fact that TB is accessible for screen reader users. However, some users have a hard time trying to navigate through the settings and preferences. At least I can tell you from my own experience that this was a pretty common trouble for some folks although I don't know if this still the case because I changed to Outlook a year ago. Indeed, Outlook has amazingly customizable features, but the learning curve for new users is longer than TB.

Hi Leo,

Thunderbird got better now accessibility wise, and the easy way to navigate through settings is to press insert plus Z after opening the settings tab, and pressing enter when jaws says "list in the beginning of the settings page. TC
