Moderated Need to use Narrator to get and install JAWS 2021 on a new install of Windows 10

Hi.
I’m having a 2 TB SSD replacing my shrimpy 512 GB SSD in my laptop. I plan on using Narrator to do this. I’m also planning on using Edge to get the installer for JAWS. With all this in mind, I have a couple of questions.
I know the steps to get Edge up and running, as well as get to where JAWS is located, but I know how to do this in JAWS. Will there be any differences in Narrator?
That’s what I need to know. I’ll have some work installing software, but I did that about 2 months ago after Windows turned in to a black hole and sent everything on my drive, including itself into the great void of nothing.

Hi, Kevin. There should be few differences using Edge with Narrator. The only thing you'll need to know is that if navigation seems difficult, use the arrow keys, not the quick navigation keys you would use in JAWS, and also, if the arrow keys don't move your cursor, use the CAPSLOCK key with SPACE to toggle scan mode. I believe Scan Mode should be on in order to navigate.

It shouldn’t be difficult at all. It’ll just be slower. You’ll have to navigate the webpage with arrow keys.
If I might make a suggestion, Why not download JAWS before you do this, stick it in a 1Drive folder or on a SD card, and install it from there? If your computer is already down and you don’t have access to another one, that would obviously negate that idea. |

Hi Phillip.
I never thought of using my other computer to get JAWS. I downloaded other files onto this slow laptop today, so I need to get them over to the new one when it gets here. I’ll use a nice flash drive for the job.
Thanks for the brilliant idea.

It would be much easier if you download the Jaws installer to a USB stick and the n simply use Narrator to copy it to your desktop after Windows is reinstalled. I find this much easier than to try and browse the FreedomScientific.com site to try and download it.
