Moderated Zoom microphone
Justin Williams
It was suggested that my microphone on zoom was too loud so the recording has trouble transcribing it? How do I turn it down.
I went into the volume settings on the pc but only saw the master volume.
I didn't see a way to turn down the microphone.
Thanks.

To adjust your microphone in Zoom, open Zoom and go to Settings, tab once and arrow down to audio and tab over to adjust your microphone input.
If your headset has an adjustment control for the headset you might want to do it there.

In the audio settings of zoom, you can have the volume set to automatic. As Marty stated, the volume of the pc or laptop is totally different then the settings in zoom.

Oh, make sure you have a separate channel for JAWS. If you don’t, all participants on zoom will hear JAWS in the background.

Hi David, How does one set up a separate channel for Jaws or NVDA? Thanks.

For clarification, you mean an external sound card? I thought I read somewhere that you can get a USB device? I’ve never done multiple sound cards so I’m probably being ignorant, for that I apologize.

I bought a USB sound mixer, 6 channel from Amazon. It was cheap in price but sure makes a big difference as I can record directly from the PC and run JAWS on one of the input channels. I forgot all about the fact that I use that mixer till when testing the mic sound through Zoom, it recorded the JAWS synthesised voice.
