Thank you Pastor. May the Lord be ith you as you navigate through this version/downloadin’ it now! I think that should’ve been the norm all the time, having the major versions pop up in the auto-updater. It’s much faster than waiting for the CD to come out

Does it matter if you use the update feature or should we use the regular download route: going to the site etc.? I was just surprised when the updater gave a chance to check updating a whole new feature. Sharon

If I understood the new update process for those who wanted to be notified when JAWS 2021 is released you had to be running the latest build of JAWS 2020 or be running the public beta of JAWS 2021.
If you don’t have either of these and you don’t have any more updates available to you you also will not get notified that the 2021 has been released.
Go back and listen to previous episodes of FSCast where these things were explained.

The only way I found out about it was through the list, which I appreciate.

I just got the update dialog when I restarted my computer and then after a few minutes it updated from the Beta to the full version. Everything seems to be running smoother with this new version. A new major version of Jaws is always a "clean install" because it does not upgrade your existing version but installs in addition to your existing version. If you have Jaws 2020 on your system and install Jaws 2021 it does not matter whether you do so from a prompt to update given by Jaws 2020 or whether you go to the Jaws website and download the installer and then install it, afterwards you will have both Jaws 2020 and Jaws 2021 on your system.
