Moderated Access to the NextDoorsite

That is the thing, if I’m writing more than a few words I am more comfortable doing it on my computer than my phone. Judy

I have trouble sending posts too.  I find that if I type them out on my phone and do not dictate them, they are more likely to go, but it has been a long time since I have posted.  Good luck!

I have been on the next door site and get updates, and I can reply to a post but I can’t send a new post. I have gone to where it says compose a new post and done so, but then it doesn’t go anywhere. I choose the “general” category for the message, but nothing happens. Can you help me? Thanks. Judy

Considering that the accessibility of the next door app changed with the latest update. I feel certain in assuming that this is possible with the website as well. The next door app is updated weekly or bi-weekly. So hopefully, accessibility for the website & the app will be fixed soon. i've been using the next door app for 2 years. There has been only 3 times, in which accessibility was slightly broken.

I just tried it after signing up.

I was able to hear the subject field and the message field after hitting the compose button in the messages list with both Jaws 2020 and Jaws 2021 beta.

I’m using the new Chromium Edge.

Maybe try that and see if it works better.

Subject: Access to the NextDoorsite

Hello Group,

For a number of years, I have been a member of the Nextdoor.com neighborhood site, specific to my immediate neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods.

Until recently, I have been able to post messages to the site which I attempted to do e arlier this morning. However, as soon as I opened the message link, and tabbed to the subject field, Jaws stopped speaking. Nonetheless, I tabbed to the message body field and began composing a message. Again, JAWS was silent, so I could not read the content of what I was writing.

I have been using Google Chrome for a couple of months. Could this be a Google issue, or do I need to do a JAWS repair, try a different browser or is Nextdoor no longer accessible as it has been, necessitating bringing this to their attention.

I would guess that some of the US members have and do use this site.

Any help is appreciated.

Peace to all,  Justin
