Moderated How to activate a notification that is in the Action Center

Richard B. McDonald

Hi!

Every time I start my laptop, I get a pop-up notification that Intel wants to check for updates.  That pop-up happens too fast for me to get to it, or I otherwise just cannot get to it to say “yes.”  However, I can see the notification listed in the Action Center, but I cannot figure out how to activate it so as to say “yes”; meaning check for and install any needed updates.  How can I activate this notification?

I am using the latest versions of Windows 10 and JAWS.

Thanks,

Richard

When in action centre tab to the list of notifications, arrow down to the one you want to view and hit enter on it

Its as simple as that

Whenever I do that, it just clears the notification.

Me too. Just pressing enter on it does nothing but for clearing it. So, I am still wondering how to activate it.

Notifications are in sections, so you are probably hitting on the section heading which clears the notification

You need to arrow to the actual notification itself and not the section heading

See how that works

It sounds to me like you are using the Intel Driver & Support Assistant, which does give these notices.  Once you know you've seen one, it's far easier to go to the Intel Driver & Support Assistant icon in the system tray (probably in the overflow area shown by activating the chevron) and activating it.  It then opens the Intel webpage where all "the magic happens" and throws focus to it.  Then just wait for the system scan to be done and you'll get the install button for the update/updates on that page.

Hi, Richard and John. Try tabbing to Left Single Click, and pressing ENTER on that.

Hi again, Richard and John. Please disregard my last message in which I said to TAB to the single click and press ENTER. This no longer seems to be available in notifications. The only workaround for this I see is to make sure you have notifications set to stay around for 30 seconds or so, and to click the notification with SHIFT plus Winkey plus V, then ENTER on the notification.
