Brian,
I suggested this because there are several people
that cross post and I got tired of the straggler emails that come through into
my In-box instead of the assigned folder. It's not a big deal, but
everytime I got 1 of these emails in my In-box instead of its folder it made me
think, okay who the hell is this and where / why am I getting this crap!
LOL So, I stopped that real quick by modifying my message
rule.
Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. *My body has absorbed so much soap and disinfectant lately that when I pee it cleans the toilet.

One can test criteria for a rule first by using the
"find" command, which in OE and in Outlook is shift + control + F.
Then use the various fields to find
messages.
So in your "to" field put:
I'm sure you could filter with just
as well.
You can use as many fields as you wish, but the
more criteria you use, the less it will find, and likewise, less it will
filter.
But if that gets the results you want in a regular
search filter, then use that criteria for your working filter.

I changed my subscription to individual messages, and thanks to Mike B's reply I can definitively state that I was wrong, completely wrong, about the [jfw].
But, both the To: and Reply-To: fields in the message are main@jfw.groups.io So long as your filter is does an "or" as Mike has specified for the value in either to To: or CC: fields you should be fine, but I'd start out just filtering on To: and see if that is enough. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 The purpose of education is not to validate ignorance but to overcome it.

Hi Lenny,
Because people will use different criteria from
their address book when sending to this group I've had to use both the, To &
CC field option, Below is what I use when creating a message rule for this
group.
Apply this rule after the message arrives Where
the To or CC line contains 'jfw@groups.io'
or 'main@jfw.groups.io'

I believe that:
[jfw] shows up in the subject of any message from this group. But it's been ages since I used the e-mail interface. But I know that the NVDA group uses [nvda] and Android Accessibility has [androidaccessibility]. It would only make sense that this group uses [jfw] in all its subjects when e-mail is sent. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 The purpose of education is not to validate ignorance but to overcome it.
