I am looking for a way to translate a mp3 file to
MS Word. I am using jaws 2020, windows 7, and would like any suggestions on the
best way to be able to do these types of files.

normally processes the spoken word into text, and if it has an import
function.

Hi Jerry, The .mp3 file is an audio file; the ms word file is a word file. You can’t take an audio file and convert it to printed words. Judy

I have found a number of options for taking MP3 (and other recorded audio) and feeding it through a program to convert to text. Mind you, you'd then have to copy that text and put it in MS-Word or Notepad or whatever, and you can be sure it won't be perfect and need massaging, but such utilities exist. I am not going to do the deep dive research into the "how to use it" end, that's up to you. See the following:

There is an iPhone and probably Android app called Just Press Record, $4.99, that tries to transcribe its own recordings, but naturally it has to be a clear recording. I do not know if it can do that with an imported file.

The IOS version of Google Keep will automatically transcribe recordings as well, it is free, and I think that you can import, I would have to check.

If it doesn't, perhaps you can plug in an audio
cord, or at least place the phone or tablet's microphone close to a speaker,
start it and leave the room.

Well, not “convert” per se, but you can use dictation software – you probably won’t really like the results though and, this is why they still hire transcribers after all these years.

Google’s comprehension is very very good, but still far below professional quality in my opinion. So if you’re going to do something like this, you’ll definitely want to go through yourself and make corrections. Also keep in mind that the longer your recording is the harder it will be for the software to keep up, so shorter clips are usually best.

I actually played with the free trial of Transcribear's online automated transcription using an MP4 file I recorded of a brief sewing lesson. They will give you a free trial of 20 minutes of automated transcription, which can be used only to do 2 minute stretches at a time, but it allows it on as many files as you want, so you can try all sorts of different quality recordings to see how it will do.
I can't speak to accessibility, but the transcription quality seems to be quite good, if not perfect, if the audio is even adequate. 9 hours of paid transcription would come to $33 USD, its 3 GBP per hour for 1 through 9 hours, and the credits last for 3 months.
