moderated Excel and Jfw 2020

Hi everyone,
Today, Excel stopped reading cells to me entirely. I’m able to use commands such as find, but it wont read anything in the cells once whatever I’m finding is actually found. Any ideas what’s going on? I’m only having this problem in Excel btw, Word and Outlook work just fine and I don’t use any of the other products in the suite to test them out.
TIA, Sarah

Yes, I noticed the exact same thing. Are you using office 365? Thanks, Jessica

Hi,
Nope, Suite 2010. I hope to be upgrading to 365 within the next month though.
Thanks, Sarah

I am not having this problem. First time I’m not having MS Office product issues lol. However, I am using Office 2019, not 365. Jaws 2020 and Windows 10.

Check your scroll lock key, that'll do it every time. Make sure it is off and then relaunch excel.

I don't know that I have one. I'm on an HP laptop. If I don't have that particular key, how would I emulate it? Thanks, Jessica

Jessica,
You should be able to put JAWS in keyboard help mode by pressing Insert + 1 on the number row and then tap each key to locate the scroll lock key. I'm pretty sure all laptops should have one. Keyboard help is a toggle so you can turn it off with another Insert + 1.

It may be something else together with the FN key. On a normal keyboard you have to tap it twice quickly to toggle it on or off and yes, that was a great recommendation, it just happened to me the other day, but it’s such an automatic fix that I didn’t even think of it.

It sorta worked, it only read me one cell though, when I arrow through it doesn’t read anything else. Any other suggestions? Sarah

Well, I've been using office 365 for a couple of years, and I just updated to the latest yesterday. The only time I've ever had your problem is when my scroll lock got turned on. If that isn't your problem, you should call fs tech support so they can figure out what it is.
