Word 2010 Save Document Keystroke Not Working
Mike B. <mb69mach1@...>
Hi
All,
Running Windows
7, Office 2010 Home & Student, & Jaws 16. When I create a word
.docx, & press either, Control + S, Alt + F, then A, or F12 to save the
document I do not get a save dialogue to name the file as whatever I want to
name it. The document just flat out disappears, & I can't find it
anywhere! I know where it's suppose to save to if it gets closed without
being saved, but like I said, I can't find where it's supposed to go or anywhere
else! I'm all out of ideas, would y'all please come to my rescue, &
tell me what the hell is happening?! LOL All help will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks much.
w
Take care.

Have you done Alt+Tab or Jaws Key+F10 to see if Jaws looses focus and the Save As Window is just hidden?

Hi
Sieghard,
Yes, I
have! From the sound of things, it sounds like the files are just closing
without being saved anywhere! I don't understand why I don't get the save
dialogue to name the file when invoking the various save keystrokes! It's
just weird!

I would call Microsoft Accessibility, get them connected to your computer and show them. I am almost sure this I s something they can figure out.

Yes, I plan on
doing that in the morning, but I was just hoping I could figure it out before
doing so. Thanks for your reply.

tried using another screen reader like NVDA or Narrator? if you can save the document as usual, consider performing a repair on JAWS. maybe some part of JAWS went awry and needs to be fixed. then try again with JAWS loaded. ------- Original Message --------

Have you tried using F-12? That's what I have to use and I am running Windows 7 along with JfW 18.

Hi
Mario,
It isn't a
screenreader issue, it's an Office or computer problem. I contacted
Microsoft Accessibility this morning, & they fixed it for a little while,
but I went to save a Word document, & it's back to being screwed up
again!

Katrina,
Well, it doesn't
matter which save keystroke / method I try / use, it makes the document close
& disappear, but I just came across something that is really screwy.
If I have MalwareBytes running it does this no save thing, but if I have
MalwareBytes disabled everything works just fine!
