There was a podcast on the Blind Bargains website from CSUN talking about
the latest version of Kindle for PC which has improved accessibility. It
seems to work much better with NVDA than JAWS at the moment, though.

It is version 1.19.

I will try and dig up the steps later today. I had a student who had Kendle
books for some school assignments and I was able to find a converter that
would turn them into MS Word documents, keep links, headers and so on.

Hi, when I do shift equals, it just says underline and doesn't speed
anything up, I don't think shift minus really works either. Are there are
better ways to do it?

Do you have the accessibility for kindle version installed? As far as
I know those only work in that version). When I use shift+equals I am
told "Book narration rate increased" or "Book narration rate at
maximum" I am not aware of any other way to change the narration rate
when using the kindle app's self-voicing capability.
