JFW on ssd laptop won't recognize TripleTalk
Dale Heltzer
I had an SSD put in my Toshiba laptop, and everything reinstalled. I then upgraded from JFW 17 to 18. Connecting the TripleTalk USB64 to the USB port, it shows up in Device Manager, it shows up in the Add Speech synthesizer Utility, and it shows up in the Select Voice Profile JFW commandcombo box. It works fine on my desktop PC using the same usb cable. What am I dong wrong? Thanks.

Done a complete reboot? Have you tried JAWS with
Eloquence, to see if that works?
It might turn out that you need to update your
TripleTalk driver, or reinstall it on your SSD.

Are you plugging into a USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 port? It shouldn’t matter, but the fact is that it may. One example where I found it matters is when you try to create a USB boot drive with a Windows 10 installation using the Microsoft Media Creation Tool. You can create such an installation USB drive using this little utility, but it has to be done on a Windows 10 laptop or desktop and when I did this it kept failing at about 80% complete. By accident I tried a different USB port and then it worked and I realized that before when it crashed I had used a USB 3.0 port and when it worked I used a USB 3.0 port.

Jaws's bad behavior Hi
I am using Windows 7 and Jaws 16. Recently Jaws has been behaving very badly. It jumps all over the place. It opens a different message when I want to read it, perhaps not a Jaws Issue? There have been at least two times whem suddenly there were two instances of Jaws reading at the same time. Does anyone have these problems? Thanks for any help you can give me. Marsha |
