I have a question relating to sorting and filtering information on a worksheet with JAWS is there an easy way to filter and sort? For sorting I am thinking putting focus in a cell in a column you are wanting to sort then pressing application key, arrow to sort, right arrow to sub menu and then down arrow to your choice For filtering information the video I have seen has you going to top of column and clicking a drop down arrow which can be visually challenging any other ideas?thanks, Palmer

I am not aware of any method easier for the blind than the applications key. You are certainly right that clicking the column label is not particularly easy for us.

There is another approach that is pretty easy, and is good if you expect to filter a column more often than once.
When focused on the row of column headers (any column header cell is fine) Press Alt+Shift+L. Now each column title will announce the title and "auto filter drop down". When on the column of choice, press Alt+DownArrow to bring up a list of filters and sorts you can perform on that column.
To turn off that feature, press Ctrl+Shift+L on any of the column titles.

The arrows don't do that, neither does tab and f6 adds a new sheet to the workbook.

Thanks, Ann, that is a nice shortcut to know, the ribbon key combination isn't bad, but Shift+F11 is certainly easier and faster. Do you know a shortcut for renaming a sheet and also for moving/copying one? I miss how in Excel 2010 and earlier I could use the Jaws cursor, find a list of all the sheets along the bottom and just right click on one to get to all these options.
Regards, Sieghard

There is another approach that is pretty easy, and is good if you expect to filter a column more often than once.
When focused on the row of column headers (any column header cell is fine) Press Alt+Shift+L. Now each column title will announce the title and "auto filter drop down". When on the column of choice, press Alt+DownArrow to bring up a list of filters and sorts you can perform on that column.
To turn off that feature, press Ctrl+Shift+L on any of the column titles.

Hello; Sorry I'm coming into this late but I use lists a lot and so long as I am just re-sorting the same list I did last time, Once I highlight the list and make sure that I include the column headings, I just use (Alt+D, followed by s) which is the old data-sort shortcut and then just hit enter

What version of Excel do you use? F6 doesn't add a new sheet to a workbook for me (I am using Excel 2016). I have to use Alt+H followed by "I" for insert and "S" for Sheet.

And how do you focus on the headers row?
The arrows don't do that, neither does tab and f6 adds a new sheet to the workbook.

Good thing you mentioned this because Alt+Shift+L doesn't do anything in Excel 2016.

I am not aware of any method easier for the blind than the applications key. You are certainly right that clicking the column label is not particularly easy for us.

Sieghard There are easier ways to do that. To do all those tasks just press Insert+shift+s, then press R, to rename a sheet D, to delete a sheet M, to move a shit I, to insert a sheet Easy

Don't think F6 creates a sheet - not sure where that came from.
