moderated Computer didn't change time

Laura Richardson

Hello,

The time in my computer did not change last night/this morning when we were to fall back one hour.  I’ve had this computer for several years and this has never happened before.  Would somebody please tell me how to set the correct time? …… I’m using Windows 10 and Jaws 18.  Thanks in advance.

My desktop didn’t either and I don’t know what caused the issue. What you can do though is open settings and select time. Then just press sink and that should fix it.

Didn’t you hear? Daylight Savings is cancelled. :P

In all seriousness, did you try restarting?

If you did, and nothing changed – just do a windows search for “time and date”.

Everything you need will be there, including a button that you can turn on or off for adjusting to daylight savings (not everyone does this). So, maybe the button got turned off mistakenly somehow. If not…you can still set the time manually, too.

To be honest, I wish it were canceled.  LOL!  I hate this time change.

Mine worked fine. I have “Set time automatically” and “Set time zone automatically” both turned on.

I’m from Australia, where the State of Queensland doesn’t have daylight saving time, but other States on the east coast do. This is a good example of why the time zone has to be set properly based on your location.

Australia has been in daylight saving time for a while (they’re heading into their summer). Europe switched out of daylight saving; then North America did likewise last night. Those of us who engage in international teleconferences need to be conscious of how the time is shifting for our colleagues around the world.

So far as I know, all of the time-related settings in Microsoft Windows are fully accessible with JAWS.

Curiously, my computer did not change time, yet incoming emails have the correct time.  I did check settings and the computer is set to change times automatically.  I believe the last time of a time change, my computer did not register it either till later in the day or the next day.  Go figure!
