Moderated links on web pages

Running Win 10 1903 and latest Jaws. I am coming up against links that will not open with the use of the space bar or enter key. Hitting enter on the link does nothing. This is on a web page that I can not share for you to try. Is there another way to activate a link using Jaws?

Bill White <billwhite92701@...>

Try JAWS Key plus F7 to open the links list.
Then find the link you wish to open in the links list, and TAB to Activate Link.
Once you reach Activate Link, try using Space Bar or ENTER.

OK I used insert key F7 to get a links list and went to activate link and still nothing happens.
When I have sighted help use a physical mouse to click on the link a list of options opens more like a combo box. Any ideas as how to get to it with Jaws?

Share this website with us, perhaps there is a problem from the other side. If you use insert +F7 and find the link you want, simply hit enter and it should activate. Otherwise, it surely could be an accessibility issue as well.

in addition to Bill's suggestion, when on a link, press the application
key or shift+f10. there might be an action to open in a new tab or in a
new window. then press enter on which one you want. this works if the
website has been constructed in a certain way. I say this because it
doesn't apply all the time. I don't have the foggiest idea why.

Try this one...
Place your PC cursor on the link. Then use the move JAWS cursor to PC cursor key stroke. JAWS key lower left corner of num pad and upper right corner of num pad.
Then hit the num pad / key as a left mouse click.
See if that works.

Couple things,
Try listing links and form fields, with F7 and if that does not work, use F5.
If neither of those work, try pass-key-through with Insert + #3 (above the E key).
After this is pressed, you can try space bar or enter.
You only get one pass-through with each action.

Hey guys:
I have experienced this phenomenon in law school with some websites;
The thing seems to be that the websites were designed in such a way that they do not expect nor allow keyboard input,
They are only looking for mouse clicks
I know this because I had sighted person use keyboard with no jaws on it, and still no dice with keyboard interaction;
But yet the mouse worked just fine.

Please advise as you like.

after arrowing to a link, press tab to the activate button and press
spacebar, or since the activate button is the first action, simply press
enter after arrowing to the link.
