If I have Jaws 2018, or Jaws 2019 load at login and after login, when I go to shut down or restart, the operation is blocked and there is nothing I can do other than power down.
I only had one version loading of course, but I tried with each separately.
If I use Narrator at login and after login, I can restart or shut down with no issues what so ever.
Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how was it resolved?
Thanks,
Richard

I am no longer getting the shut down anyway. I've had my wife look, and after a very short couple of seconds, it just sits there saying shutting down. I've waited several minutes until I have to just power it off. But, this never happens if I'm running narrator at the time of shut down.

as John suggested, you can put the command in a desktop shortcut and assign a shortcut to trigger a shutdown.
in the target edit field type exactly or copy/paste:
C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe -s -t 0
the keystroke I assigned is control+alt+shift+s. assign whatever keys you'd like.
the s is for shutdown and the t is for milliseconds. you can create one for restarting, just sub r for s.

These are great suggestions that I may consider after completely reinstalling all FS products. Jaws 2019 makes it so none of my program shortcuts work. I have lots setup for all the programs I run. But, if Jaws 2019 is loaded, none of them work. If I load Jaws 2018, they all work. Neither FS or Microsoft have a clue why that is. So for now, Narrator will be my logon and shutdown program of choice. It loads faster than even Jaws 2019, so pretty simple solution. Thanks again all,
Richard

Hello; I have never experienced anything like this, In the latest version of Jaws 17 & in all later versions of Jaws, you can run these versions in their default mode by doing the following: Press, Insert+ spacebar, then press the letter, Z. This will run Jaws 17 latest & all Jaws later versions in default mode, & this keystroke is a toggle, so just invoke the keystroke again to run them with your settings back. just would be interested if jaws would work with default settings loaded.
The impossible is the untried, Never under estimate the power of a dream.
