searching for commands doesn't work

Mario

maybe I'm not doing it right, but using the insert+spacebar followed by
a J does give me the edit field to type a keyword for a description but
whatever I type does not give me any results. for example when using
Excel, I press the keystroke, press spacebar on the edit field (because
forms mode is set to manual), type the word formula, press tab, and no
results are found. am I doing something wrong?

I just followed your steps and it worked fine.
This is what I got by tabbing through the results:
Say Formula
Say Formula. JAWSKey + control + F2 heading level 3 Link
Click to Say Formula
Say Row Total. JAWSKey + ExtendedDelete heading level 3 Link
Click to Say Row Total
JAWSKey + Delete Link
Click
Say Column Total. JAWSKey + NumPadEnter heading level 3 Link
Click to Say Column Total
JAWSKey + enter Link
Click
List Cells With Formulas. JAWSKey + Shift + F heading level 3 Link
Click to List Cells With Formulas
List Cells With Formulas. JAWSKey + Shift + F heading level 3 Link
Click to List Cells With Formulas

well, a repair fixed the problem and I can now use the feature.
it's kind of strange that it didn't work until now because I performed a
repair a few times before for other issues.
