Greetings, I am having an issue with a logging program for amateur radio. When i attempt to edit a contact from a previous entry, I am bounced out and dropped to the front page of the logging program. I have had a sighted person view this activity via remote and states that it appears that Jaws is preventing me from the editing process. I am also prevented from entering a directory within the logging program. Have spoken with the logging author and suspects either Jaws or anti-virus as the cause. If it were an anti-virus issue, I would think that importing and exporting data would be prevented as well, but that piece works just fine. I am running Jaws 19 and Windows 10. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you, Dan Reid

Dan: When I want to edit a contact in the N3FJP software, I hit control q which takes me to my list of contacts. I highlight the contact I wish to edit, and then tab over to edit. Once I’ve done the needed editing, I tab over to done, and the process is complete. I hope this helps, but if I’m misunderstanding your question, please let me know. Tom Behler: KB8TYJ

Thanks Tom for the response. I follow those exact steps, but it is when I get to the edit point that I am bounced back to the main page.
This happens with Scott's contest programs as well. I have not had this problem until switching to windows 10 and a new laptop.
Either anti-virus, security or jaws is clamping down preventing the access to edit.
Thanks again,
Dan kb6unc

Hi, Dan. Go to Windows Defender settings> Browser and app control, and make sure that the three settings there are turned to off. This might be what is preventing you from using the logging programs.

Dan: Have you considered posting this quiry to the blind hams list? I know that a number of people on there are successfully using the logging software you mention with Jaws and Windows 10. Just a thought. Tom Behler: KB8TYJ
