Enhancements in JAWS 2018.1811.2 (November
2018)
The following is a list of improvements made in
JAWS 2018 between the August 2018 update and the November 2018
update.

• Resolved an issue with JAWS double speaking links in PDF documents. • The changes made in JAWS 2019 to address Audio Ducking issues with the latest Windows 10 updates are now also available in JAWS 2018. • Resolved an issue where lines were sometimes repeated when using braille panning in some applications. • When reading using Say All (INSERT+DOWN ARROW) in the Amazon Kindle app, addressed an issue where JAWS would unexpectedly stop reading after a few pages. • Resolved an issue where Firefox would become unresponsive when navigating certain web pages with JAWS. • In Chrome, resolved an issue where JAWS was not reading as expected in Google Sheets if Braille Mode was turned off. • Added support for Google Slides film strip tree views. list end Take care. I don't have a clue! Maybe call FS tech
support. Are you getting any error codes / messages? I just
updated 4 computers, 2 Windows 10 and 2 Windows 7 without a
problem.

I had no problems either Mario updating my windows 7, you might want to uninstall your current Jaws 2018 and if that doesnt work shared coponents as I had a similar issue sometime back and one of these did fix that issue

Tell them that installing J2019 isn't fixing the
J2018 update issue so, how about we just fix the current problem so you can use
J2018.

My experience has been that if the update doesn't install, I can download the full version from the web site and that install will work. I sometimes get a message telling me to run a JAWS repair when the update doesn't work. I have done that, but it doesn't help. So I just go download the whole stinkin' thing.

Have you tried to uninstall Jaws 2018, first by leaving shared components and user settings and then tried to reinstall?

correction. the code is 8070643. running the installer without JAWS

running uses a "built in voice" which eventually speaks an error code. however, JAWS nor NVDA does not read this code, not even using Speech History, Virtualize mode (insert+alt+w) or Convenient OCR. I'm still going to call FS Monday unless there is a fix that's posted on their sight... or you guys or gals can help sooner. -------- Original Message --------

I'm running Windows 10 home 64 bit on a Dell laptop with an SSD drive. I just installed this Jaws 2018 update and it took maybe 2 minutes and went without a hitch. I don't recall where you live, but I'd call Microsoft Accessibility and have them remote into your machine so they can see what happens and I'll be surprised if they can't fix the issue long before Monday. 800-936-5900 assuming you are in North America. If I just shut down the computer and then turn it on, it is fine, no error messages. I sometimes get a message telling me to run a JAWS repair when the update doesn't work. I have done that, but it doesn't help. So I just go download the whole stinkin' thing.
