Reminder, please: How to change Screen Saver settings

Hi,

I have a new laptop for work which was set up by Work I T, and screen saver settings are set to keep logging me off after 30 minutes of non-use. I’d like to change these to no logoff, which I’ve done on earlier work computers, but I can’t remember how to do this.

I’d very much appreciate being reminded of the process for doing this.

Thanks in advance, Keith

Keith,

1. Open Settings then choose Personalization.

2.  Choose the Lock Screen Pane, and then the Screen Saver Settings Link

3.  In the Screen Saver Settings dialog box, whether or not you choose to have a screen saver, be certain that the checkbox for "On Resume, display login screen" is not checked.

You're not actually being logged off, per se, but using what looks just like the login screen as a lock screen.  If the previously mentioned checkbox is unchecked the requirement to enter a password when you wake the computer up from inactivity is not enforced.  Be aware, though, that you may not be able to change this if that particular setting is controlled by a group policy setting on a work computer.  You could ask for a waiver, though.
