I am the secretary for a board. I accepted this position expecting that I could do the job independently. I need to create professional looking minutes. I am struggling with formatting, and outline view especially.
I have read JAWS Word Help. I set a JAWS speech scheme to read various formatting items. No matter what I do, I keep finding problems that I cannot fix easily, and if I fix one, another seems to be created. JAWS keeps telling me about “font change at column #,” line indents at slightly different places, space runs, and more. I would appreciate if someone with Word and JAWS expertise would contact me off list. Thank you.

I would suggest defining styles for all of the important formatting in your document, then using them rigorously. Avoid using what Microsoft refer to as "direct formatting" as much as possible by using styles instead.
