Moving Emails to Folders in Outlook 2016

Brian Prewitt

Good afternoon,

My company recently upgraded to Office 2016, and I have a coworker who is having trouble moving emails to folders. He used to go to the Home tab then to the Move section. He would hit spacebar and be able to choose from several folders. Now, he gets to the move item and Jaws says there’s a grid and he can’t go to the grid by tabbing or using the arrow keys. He is on Windows 7 and the latest build of jaws 2018. He used to be able to do this function in Outlook 2010.

Thanks for your help,

This works for me in outlook 2016.
With the focus on the email you want to move,go to the Applications menus and either arrow down or use m to bring you to the option to move the email to another.

The application key is a key on some keyboards (not all have it and some which do it doesn't work as the application key). It is located on the right of the spacebar between Alt and Control and it does the same as Shift+F10 escept Shift+F10 works even on keyboards where the application key doesn't work or is not there.

Those that have the key in the position previously noted by Sieghard that is not the Context Menu/Applications Key typically typically have what I call the "spare Fn" key there.  There's more typically only one, and located on the left, but on certain keyboards there are dual Fn keys just like there are dual CTRL and ALT keys.

use the context applications key and hit m for move then choose the folder.
Hope that helps.

Subject: Moving Emails to Folders in Outlook 2016

Good afternoon,

My company recently upgraded to Office 2016, and I have a coworker who is
having trouble moving emails to folders. He used to go to the Home tab then
to the Move section. He would hit spacebar and be able to choose from
several folders. Now, he gets to the move item and Jaws says there's a grid
and he can't go to the grid by tabbing or using the arrow keys. He is on
Windows 7 and the latest build of jaws 2018. He used to be able to do this
function in Outlook 2010.

Thanks for your help,
