Hello Shane, Alt F, t, for options. Press P for proofing category. You should land on auto correct ,and press space bar to open the dialog , or press Alt a, if not. Then press tab, and control tab to move around to make your selections. And tab to the okay button. Warning; Auto correct is not necessarily your friend. It may make changes you are unaware of, or do not want. Cheers Kevin.

Hi Kevin, Thanks for getting back with me. So you're saying maybe I shouldn't enable auto correct, because it doesn't play nice with Jaws, and will reconfigure some things? Shane. On Thu, Jul 28, 2016, 8:06 PM Kevin Hourigan <kevinthourigan@...> wrote:

Hello Shane, Of course it is your choice, but during the FS webinar it was pointed out that auto correct will make changes you will not see, and may not want. Additionally, if you press F 7 for spell check you hear the words you have spelled incorrectly, and their correct spelling. I have not read for over 50 years until I got Jaws 4 years ago, and was astonished at how terrible my spelling was; which has improved considerably since, thanks to spell check. Also spell check does not always identify the word you want correctly, and if it is done automatically you will not pick this up. Cheers Kevin.

I found it is important to use Spell Check and proof. For instance, if you meant to type using and typed suing, Spell Check won't pick it up, but proofing would.

Hi list, So I was trying to get auto correct enabled on Word 2016, on my HP laptop running Win 10, and Jaws 17. I'm able to get to the proofing tav, then to auto correct, but once I press the space bar and activate this tab, I'm not sure what to do from there. What should I see in this screen, and what do I need to do to enable auto correct, and configure it to my liking? Thanks so much for any and all assistance, Shane. -- Thanks, Shane. -- Thanks, Shane. |
