short cut key to identify cursor location in MSWord

Greg Nickel

Anyone know if there is a shortcut key to vocalize your position in a line
in word? When you tab it identifies where you are with the tab, Ie., 1.50"
etc. How about an SC key combination that will tell you where you are on
the line?

JAWS Key plus Delete on the NumPad. For this command to work, NumLock must be off.

Gregg, and I checked before answering, with Office 2010, it is, as it was with 2003, Alt Delete, and it will tell you where you are on the page and on the line. In other words, something like one inch from top, 2.88 from left.

GIFT (God is forever true),

Carolyn

Interesting, Gregg. Bill is right too, and his keys might be more satisfactory. Insert Delete gives you line number and "column" number. I can't figure if column is for space. I just wrote a couple of lines with a skip, and I got line three, column 90. The Alt Delete gives you inches. The Insert Delete gives the information more like it used to do in Old WordPerfect 5.1. Probably a lot of yall are young enough never to have used it, but we thought it was hot stuff back in the 90's.

GIFT (God is forever true),
