Odd JAWS Behavior
Maggi Ostrowski <mio528@...>
Hi,
I'm running Windows 7 and JAWS 16.0.1925. I was trying to Reply to an Outlook message and JAWS wouldn't let me type the reply. When I typed Shft h to write Hi, JAWS would say Heading not found. A reboot of my laptop fixed the problem but it was quite strange and annoying. Maggi |

I have a similar configuration. My version of Outlook is 2010. I also encounter the problem of being unable to set up a reply periodically, and the only solution I've found is to reboot, as you do. However, your experience might offer a clue to what is going on. When JAWS tells you that a header isn't found when you press shift-h, it's suggesting the virtual cursor is on. The toggle key for the virtual cursor is JAWS key+z. The next time this happens, press that key combination once and then try typing again. I'd be curious if this works for you. Even though I'm not getting the same JAWS message, I'll do the same. -----Original Message-----

Sounds like you opened the message but hadn't gotten into the reply mode.

This happens to me a lot using JAWS 16, and Outlook 2013. Usually I can get

back into my message without having to reboot my computer, but my methods tend to vary. Not sure why JAWS behaves that way. -----Original Message-----

I'm also running Outlook 2010. I'll try turning the virtual cursor off the next time the issue occurs and I'll let you know what happens. Thanks for the suggestion. Regards, Maggi -----Original Message-----
