Hi All,
I'm using JAWS 13 on my Windows 7 laptop. So, while reading articles, posts, etc, the cursor often automatically jumps to the top of the page. As a result, I often have to re-read the whole thing from the very beginning. Is there any way to prevent the cursor from losing focus and jumping around the webpage? This is really very frustrating. Any help would be really appreciated.
Best, Rahul

In the JAWS settings center, arrow down to "Page refresh automatically." You can cycle through the options with the spacebar. Try selecting "off" and see if your experience improves.

If Adrian's method does not work, an easy solution, but certainly not a fix, is to set a bookmark at certain intervals by pressing "Control+Windows+K", and if your computer jumps back to the top of the page, simply press the letter K to jump back to the last bookmark that you set. At least this will save you from having to navigate the entire web page to find where you were. hth, Mike -------------------------------------------------- From: "Adrian Spratt" <Adrian@...> Sent: Sunday, December 15, 2013 3:51 AM To: "The Jaws for Windows support list." <jfw@...> Subject: RE: Navigating Webpages with JAWS In the JAWS settings center, arrow down to "Page refresh automatically." Hello,
I did disable the 'page refresh automatically' feature as Adrian suggest, but I'm still facing the same problem. I essentially have to go back to where I was at least 5-10 times on average while reading any article. Is there anything else that I can do to fix this? Any help would be immensely appreciated.

If you are using jaws with flexible web you can try eliminating the ads on the page. The advertisements do update. I find that these update inspite of the page refresh being turned off depending on how the page is coded. Regards Tom Bisset

There's one website I use regularly that constantly renews and for which I can't find a fix. In that case, I go to the beginning of the article I wish to read, then copy from that point to the bottom of the page and put the contents in an email. Hardly ideal, but it saves a lot of frustration.

If you have JAWS 14 press insert+V, then type in inline frames. You will be presented with two options. Choose the first one and press space bar to turn off the frames.
Hope this helps.
