Tutorials for Powerpoint 2010

Tom Behler

Hi.

Does anyone have a link to an easy-to-understand tutorial for Powerpoint
2010?

I have some older tutorials here, but since I now have Powerpoint 2010 both
at home and at work, I'm not sure whether they would be useful.

FS has tutorials you can purchase for Powerpoint 2010. ATI has tutorials for
2013you can purchase, but not sure about 2010.
If you're looking for free tutorials, I'm not sure what's out there.

Well, in my current teaching job, I'm not sure how much I'll actually need
to use powerpoints, so don't know if I can justify myself or my University
purchasing any tutorials, but will certainly keep this in mind if the need
is greater than I think it will be.

If you open PowerPoint 2010, then go to the help menu (F1), then there is a
tab entitled "Training Courses." This takes you to a page that lists
several free training courses for PowerPoint 2010 - some fairly generic,
some specialized topics.

Tom Behler

Hi,Lisa.

I'm actually looking for using jaws with powerpoint 2010-type tutorials.

I have a list of helpful Jaws commands for Powerpoint, but I think it's for
Powerpoint 2003. And, I find the list doesn't have much explanatory info to
go along with the commands.

I have the following links to some more-general powerpoint tutorials, but
they are obviously for earlier versions.

http://www.utexas.edu/disability/ai/resource/tutorials_classes/JAWS/ppt_buil
d_basic07.htm

http://www.utexas.edu/disability/ai/resource/tutorials_classes/JAWS/ppt_over
view.htm

Again, I'm using Windows 7, Office 2010, and Jaws 14 here.

I would think a list of basic jaws commands with some helpful explanatory
information would be sufficient for my purposes.

Thanks for your question.

Hi, again, Lisa.

I'll definitely check out the F1 help menu list of free training courses.

I'm not sure if I need an entire course, but maybe there is a command list
in there somewhere that is fairly easy to understand.

Tom,

Try this web site it gives a list of key commands with explanation for
powerpoint and other applications as well.

www.shortcutworld.com
Go to the OS system you are using then you will find a list of applications,
powerpoint will be one of them.

Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)

The "say-all" command no longer seems to work in 2010, but merely tabbing to the appropriate field causes JAWS to read the complete text. The newer PowerPoint began working for me when I realized all I had to do was keep it simple.

Hi, again, Lisa.

I'll definitely check out the F1 help menu list of free training courses.

I'm not sure if I need an entire course, but maybe there is a command list in there somewhere that is fairly easy to understand.

If you open PowerPoint 2010, then go to the help menu (F1), then there is a tab entitled "Training Courses." This takes you to a page that lists several free training courses for PowerPoint 2010 - some fairly generic, some specialized topics.

Charles Coe

Hi,

First there are tutorials for using Win 7 from ATI that will teach you all
about Win 7 with JAWS 14 available through the following web site:

www.blindtraining.com

The cost is $90.00 via download.
The other way is through FS Training webinars some of which are free.
Available through this web site:

www.freedomscientific.com

Find the training link then click on it. Tab down until you find the free
training archives. Here you will find a list of training webinars including
the Win 7 basic training webinar.
