Yes, that's the downside to getting Windows Professional. I just got a new machine and it came with Windows 7 Professional. It's not like I need it, but that's what it came with. Now I'm kind of stuck getting JAWS Pro at the higher price rather than a little cheaper one. But either way, it works!

works with -- and more. In terms of functionality, the only thing that I'm sure one gets with JAWS Pro that one does not necessarily get with regular JAWS is the ability to work with Citrix. In fact, that was the reason I originally got the Pro version -- the only reason. Of course, that turned out to be something of an empty promise. Although I used JFW profitably with Citrix at my old firm, now Citrix runs in a virtual environment on the system at my new firm. Freedom Scientific reportedly told our IT department that JFW Pro will not work with Citrix in a virtual environment. That is not all that problematic since I use the firm's system through a VPN anyway. I think regular JAWS would work with the VPN, but since I've had JAWS Pro for the past decade, I guess I'll keep using the Pro version. when you are using certain professional or ultimate versions of Winedows it requires that use JAws Professional. However, JAWs professional will work on standard programs. When I switched it was because I went to work for an organization that at the time was using Windows XP Professional and I had to upgrade in order to use JAWs on the office computer that was assigned to me.

Only tangible effect I recall was no longer having to support two licenses--one for home and one for work. If you're sure you never, ever, ever want to use a pro-grade OS, don't worry about it, but I think the difference is more than worth it.

We had that same problem. I couldn't access our pharmacy data--rather embarrassing, as that was one of my specialties. Our contractor finally installed a kind of side door to allow one to enter Magellan's system from our HP software.
