Jaws 15 demo

Hi everyone,
As you know, the final version of Jaws 15 released yesterday.
I want to ask you a question that popped into my head:
Freedom Scientific is it possible to get a demo license firm long-term?
because 40 minutes is really too little.

We're probably the wrong folks to ask, but a demo is not meant to be too convenient, thereby providing the incentive to upgrade.

Long years ago they used to offer two modes of demo: 40-minutes per session without an expiration date, and unlimited time per session with an expiration date. That one included all hardcopy documentation but involved a small charge.

I think the latter has been dropped and you have only the 40 minute demo nowadays but the best thing to do is call FS.

Back in the days of floppy disk authoriztion/authorization, there was an option to get a two-month demo license that cost about $40 at the time. If one decided to buy jaws after the two-month demo license, the US$40 were credited towards the purchase price of a full jaws license. I have no idea if anything similar is still available.

With the current problem of jaws 15 slowing down people's internet speed, you will want to run jaws for longer than 40 minutes to get a proper impression of the strenths and weaknesses of the shark.

Dave...

I think you're out of luck with a longer demo time. Just reboot each time it
goes down, and live with it -- or call FS and ask them to change their
standards.

And good luck.

Doris,

Not to my knowledge, once they instituted the internet activation process.

Oh, I couldn't agree more, especially in an office environment! I don't remember that 2-month thing, although I ought to know about it; I've been a user since 1996.
