Jaws 15 Beta and Eudora

Moshe Segal

After installing the Jaws 15 Public beta I noticed that Eudora behaves as if there are no scripts written, even though the help topic describes everything as in previous versions. Is there a way to get that functionality back? Thanks.

Hi;

I had to give up on Eudora. What version of Eudora and Jaws are you using.
I would love to get Eudora working on W7 64 bit.

Thanks,

I am using eudora 7.1 on windows 7 Jaws 14 without a problem.

Hi Ann;

I have Jaws 13, 14, & 15 installed and I have a few questions.
1- Is your computer 32 or 64 bit?

2- Does your ISP handle email through Gmail?

If the answer to the second question is "yes" and you have 64 bit, here is
one more.

3- What ports are you using to send and receive the mail? My ISP tech
support can't help. Eudora is not on their answer sheet. {;-) Grin

All help is appreciated

Hi, David,

If I missed the part about GMail, sorry about that. Here is an address with some information about setting up Eudora with GMail, both as pop3 and imap. Imap appears to keep messages on the server after they are deleted from your computer, which is supposed to be good but I don't like it.

This looks to me like it should work. I don't have a GMail account, though, so can't test.

Good luck!

Ann;

No luck so far. Perhaps some eyes will help. Will have to butter up the
wife.

Thanks,

Dave

You can cofnigure gmail to not keep messages just like any other email account.

I have had my gmail account since 2004 and have always used it with Eudora. Configuring whether or not gmail keeps messages on server after they are deleted in the local client is a one-time effort unless, of course, settings are changed.
