Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)

I guess you're talking Outlook? That' not a JAWS issue directly. Go under the mail tab, and I mean under. You'll have to do quite a bit of scrolling, though it's a little closer if you scroll backward.

Ted

I am not sure at all of what I am trying to say. It seems when I do a search from the start menu jaws tries to or at least I hear jaws giving me feedback as if it is trying to suggest to me what I want. It is confuseing to hear suggestions while I am trying to type in my search.

I do not know if it is a jaws issue or something else. I have windows 7, i.e. 8 and latest jaws.

David

Hi, David. There is a file you can download and run to turn off search autocomplete in Windows7. The link to download this file, which modifies your registry, is below.

Hi, David. If you are not comfortable downloading and running the file which I previously gave you, here is a more complicated alternative to turning off autocomplete in Windows Explorer.

1. Open the Control Panel and click on the Internet Options icon.

2. To Turn Off Windows Explorer and Run AutoComplete
A) Click on the Advanced tab, then under the Browsing section, uncheck the Use inline AutoComplete in Windows Explorer and Run Dialog box and click on OK.

Note that if you use either of these methods, 1 involving the registry, or 2, involving the Control Panel, it is best if you restart your computer after the operation you performed.

Thank you.
