Voices with JAWS 13
Onwardbob
My JAWS 13 came with the real speak solo direct voices, and the training
recommends using them. Well they aren't as good as what came with my old JAWS 8 version. OK fine, but I can't find a way to change the pitch on uppercase letters. Am I missing something? Thanks...Bob |

you can always go back to Eloquence.

an alternate Say All. As I've said on here before, I just make better time with Eloquence, and almost never need a repeat. Good thing too. This Dell at the office won't even do Alternate Say All; the keyboard just isn't compatible, I don't know why. Ted -----Original Message-----

I don't think you can alter the pitch in Real Speak voices, like you can with Eloquence. Dave Carlson Tastefully composed and launched near the Pacific Ocean using a Dell Latitude E6520, JAWS 13.0.718, and Windows 7 Professional 32-bit ----- Original Message -----

I also don't think so. On the subject of voices, does anyone know if
the Ivona voices are also slowish and unresponsive? I'd like a high quality voice that's fast like eloquence. Thanks Ari On 4/25/12, Farfar, Thinking it's Time for a Long Vacation <dgcarlson@...> wrote: Robert, |

Quality comes at the price of more bits to process, and therefore slower

A lot of this depends on your computer speed. Things are very responsive on my AMD quad-core with a solidstate drive.

My system isn't really able to speak any faster with the natural
sounding voices. What it can do is sustain far higher loads of actual work and still be able to speak without becoming choppy. That was a real problem for me with my previous system (a dual AMD something or other with 4gb ram running WinXP Pro) on that system, pretty much as soon as I put load on it I had to quit have it trying to speak until the work was done. The Ivona voices are great. I would definetly recomend them, not only do they read well, but they sound great sped up and aren't too badly priced. :) Matt Sent from my mac Twitter: matt692 msn: matt692@... skype: blindman3221 On 2012-04-25, at 1:15 PM, Soronel Haetir wrote:
