Yes, last year (or was it two years ago) I did talk to them for over a half hour to describe the problems I was having with that version. The next year, it was decidedly better, but we're still not there -- as you attest. And yes, I also get stuck in that "bookmark" section all the time. It really grabs the focus. Still I wish I could browse through the forms, as well as using the wizards. So you're paying the small amount to download the Tax Acts and install on your computer, and not the version that runs on the web? That's what I do, and yes, it's sort of accessible with JAWS, but takes a lot of extra routing home and tabbing to keep focus during the Q&A wizard, and again in the forms mode, it's really bad. Thanks. I use several forms and schedules each year (complicated life, I guess) and after going through Q&A wizards to enter the data, follow up by slogging through a virtual form line-by-line to double-check. And that's where the major accessibility problem lies, although in TaxActs the Q&A wizard is also cumbersome and needs to have some work done to keep JAWS properly focused. Wish I had time to learn scripting, so I could give it a shot myself. This year, I filed for an extension since my taxes are more complicated and seeing the forms would be helpful. I may try it and use someone to help me if it does not work. If I do, I will pass along what I learn. Doug _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list Jfw@... http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com |

Turbo Tax was not accessible several years ago when I purchased it so I went with Tax Acts, which was much more accessible back then. The company who developed scripts for Tax Acts on behalf of Freedom Scientific have not updated them since version 2004 or thereabouts, and FS is not paying them to do any updates since. If Turbo Tax is accessible now, I'd like to know. Dave Carlson Tastefully composed and launched near the Pacific Ocean using a Dell Latitude E6520, JAWS 13.0.718, and Windows 7 Professional 32-bit

I use the installed version that I purchase each year, rather than the on-line version. That's likely why. Dave Carlson Tastefully composed and launched near the Pacific Ocean using a Dell Latitude E6520, JAWS 13.0.718, and Windows 7 Professional 32-bit

Of course, some of my happiness with the program may be due to the fact that I no longer need to modify the old scripts each year. They once used all of those customized controls and graphics that were tied to messages in the script files, and I had to change these messages to match the year I was working on. happy taxpayer. And it wouldn't take much, because it works a bit out of the box, but needs to have better focus on the screens and forms. Hint, hint. Dave Carlson Tastefully composed and launched near the Pacific Ocean using a Dell Latitude E6520, JAWS 13.0.718, and Windows 7 Professional 32-bit
