right clicking on shortcuts

michael grove <attackfisherman1@...> #7474 I am taking a class for windows seven. I am to create shortcuts on my desktop for easier acess and I am having trouble right clicking on them. When I select a shortcut and right click it unselects and opens a menu for the desktop. I need to make shortcuts for my flash drive and some other things also. What am I doing wrong? Adrian Spratt #7475 Hi. When you're on the desktop, do you confirm that the icon/shortcut you want is selected? If JAWS says "unselected," right-clicking will bring up options for the desktop, not the icon. To select an item where you have focus, press spacebar. To unselect, press control-spacebar.
