Another JAWS 13 question

Cindy

OK, I restarted my Net Book and the installation continued and went very
quickly, this time.

After installing JAWS 13, I uninstalled JAWS 11, but left shared files and
settings. I restarted the computer after the installation was complete, but
JAWS 13 does not start automatically. I thought it would. I don't have a
shortcut key set to start it, yet. So, what's the easiest way to start JAWS
13 after the computer starts?

Cindy, Rob answered how to get JAWS running again. To have JAWS start when
the system boots up, go to JAWS options, either with insert-j or, if that
doesn't work, the JAWS application window. Press enter on basic, then tab
through for this and any other basic settings you want.

HI Cindy,

To make Jaws13 start when your computer starts, do the following;
1. Press Insert / Jaws Key + J, to open the Jaws context menu. This is if
you are running from the system tray. If not, Alt + Tab, until you get to
the Jaws window, press the alt key, pressenter on options, & press enter on
Basics.
2. Tab to the automatically start Jaws checkbox, and press the spacebar to
check it.
3. Now, tab to okay, press enter to save your changes & close the Jaws
context menu.

Hope this helped. Take care.
Mike

Cindy,

Hate to say this, but you need to go on Blind Faith. When your PC has
settled down, Press Windows+r to bring up the run dialog. Type JAWS13 (no
spaces) and press enter. It should launch JAWS 13. Substitute a different
number for other versions of JAWS.

Hi Cindy;

You really don't need to know, where you are,
If you press the keystroke windows+r,
Regardless where you use the keystroke, the run dialog box will come up.

So, restart your computer,
Or, just use,
Windows+m to go to the desktop,
Now use,
Windows-key+r=run,
You will be placed into the run dialog,
Now, just type jaws13 and press enter.
Your jaws 13 will load,
Now, you can do what ever you wish to do,
And go to the jaws options and have jaws startup with windows.

For a little additional help, just load narrator. It's not much, but
will give just the help you need here. Once you load JAWS, just do as

Rose Combs <rosecombs@...>

OK, why not press from the desktop J two times and press enter, a lot easier
than trying to remember the weird version number and going to the rum menu.
I never make a hotkey because it changes with each version, but generally I
have no more than two, possibly 3 versions of Jaws. Once in a very great
while I might get the one I did not want but that is easily fixable once you
have some speech going.

Subject: Another JAWS 13 question

OK, I restarted my Net Book and the installation continued and went very
quickly, this time.

After installing JAWS 13, I uninstalled JAWS 11, but left shared files and
settings. I restarted the computer after the installation was complete, but
JAWS 13 does not start automatically. I thought it would. I don't have a
shortcut key set to start it, yet. So, what's the easiest way to start JAWS
13 after the computer starts?
