Firefox 5

Kerri <shalom75@...>

But is it worth upgrading? I mean, does Mozilla have a good track record of
accessibility?

I'm an extremely new user so forgive me if this question is too far out
there.

Forget Firefox 6. Firefox 7 is scheduled for release in a few weeks. And
Firefox 8 is not far behind.

Now I hear there's a FireFox 6. Anybody know if it's not slow, unstable or
constantly crashing like 5 was? Even FireFox might improve one of these
days, right?

Don't even consider FireFox 5 with JAWS Anything. Stay with the FireFox
that brought you to the dance.
I want 4 and can't get it because 5 is such a load of old rubbish.
Slow, unstable and crashes like an airplane with a famous singer on it.

FireFox 4 was great. I was an idiot to dump it.

No question is too out there when you're just learning. Keep at it, you'll
learn enough to be dangerous.

Peter Holdstock <peterholdstock@...>

I'm finding with Facebook and JAWS 12 that IE9 is much more responsive than Firefox 6. In fact I've been very impressed how accessible the main facebook site is now and it's very much like using an application as JAWS is reading alerts and letting me know when things pop up etc.

Chris Smart <csmart8@...>

Yep, at least in my experience with it, Firefox is about as accessible as Internet Explorer. It comes down to a matter of preference, which one you like better. The one advantage with Firefox is being able to use the Webvisum add-on to solve capchas, along with labelling page elements and sharing those labels automatically with other users.

Adrian Spratt

Early versions of Firefox didn't start out as accessible, so FS deserves
credit. Like you, Chris, I now rely mostly on IE but for specific tasks,
above all CAPTIA with Webvisum.
