how to activate audio in safe mode

Hello there:

I would loved to have used the files you say were attached to your email message.

Unfortunately, the attached text files you talk about in your email do not appear to have either been attached or, they were rejected by the JFW list email server or, by some other method.

Could it be that the email server which is being used to host this list, does not allow attachments, or, is it that the owners/administrators of this list, have turned off the function which would allow attachments.

Below the last line of your email message, the following information was displayed.

Hi every body
for those of you who repair systems & for those who would find this helpful.

I have attached 2 text files that when you change the extention to .reg & run them they will do the following.

1. Activate Sound in SafeMode
this will add a set of registry keys to the safe mode tree
that will enable audio in safe mode, in both safe mode & safe mode with networking.
Depending on the chipset as to whether the onboard audio will load, how ever the microsoft USB audio will always load, so all you need is a USB headset & use NVDA for the screen reader.
I have used this on many different chipsets & so far the onboard audio has loaded, but shore there will be a chipset that wont like to play But as I said the headset is all you need.
I have used this on XP, W7 32 & 64 bit.

2. remove Activate Sound in SafeMode.
this will as it says remove the registry keys once your done if you want to remove them.

I hope a lot of you find this helpful & please pass this onto all your VIP techy friends.

Hello there:

I forgot to ask in my previous post, whether anyone else had the same problem in not finding the two attached files to this message.

Because, if other list members did get the attached files, then there might be a setting on my system which prevented me from receiving the two attached files.

Sincerely:

James' former list host, Freelists, did not allow attachments to go through.
He hasn't reported the same limitation on the current host, but I'm guessing
it applies, too. This is one reason why people provide DropBox or Sendspace
addresses for listers to obtain files.

I'm assuming this is the same sounds in safe mode file that we were alerted
to earlier this month. Several of us looked into it and couldn't verify its
reliability and safety. I, for one, will not be installing it.

Hi, Curtis.

Did you install the program? Did it work as advertised? Did you experience
any new problems with your system?

Hello there:

I forgot to ask in my previous post, whether anyone else had the same
problem in not finding the two attached files to this message.

Because, if other list members did get the attached files, then there
might
be a setting on my system which prevented me from receiving the two
attached
files.

Sincerely:

Hello there:

I forgot to ask in my previous post, whether anyone else had the same
problem in not finding the two attached files to this message.

Because, if other list members did get the attached files, then there
might
be a setting on my system which prevented me from receiving the two
attached
files.

Steve <k8sp@...>

It's happening because, I presume for everybody's safety, the list doesn't allow attachments.

And, I don't know who this guy was that sent the supposed attached files. Anybody who is dumb enough to load a supposed registry file into their computer when you don't know the source is asking for other issues.

I'm not making an accusation, it's just being smart with your computer.

Hello there:

I would loved to have used the files you say were attached to your email
message.

Unfortunately, the attached text files you talk about in your email do not
appear to have either been attached or, they were rejected by the JFW list
email server or, by some other method.

Could it be that the email server which is being used to host this list,
does not allow attachments, or, is it that the owners/administrators of this

list, have turned off the function which would allow attachments.

Hi every body
for those of you who repair systems & for those who would find this
helpful.

I have attached 2 text files that when you change the extention to .reg &
run them they will do the following.

1. Activate Sound in SafeMode
this will add a set of registry keys to the safe mode tree
that will enable audio in safe mode, in both safe mode & safe mode with
networking.
Depending on the chipset as to whether the onboard audio will load, how
ever the microsoft USB audio will always load, so all you need is a USB
headset & use NVDA for the screen reader.
I have used this on many different chipsets & so far the onboard audio has
loaded, but shore there will be a chipset that wont like to play But as I
said the headset is all you need.
I have used this on XP, W7 32 & 64 bit.

2. remove Activate Sound in SafeMode.
this will as it says remove the registry keys once your done if you want
to remove them.

I hope a lot of you find this helpful & please pass this onto all your VIP
techy friends.

I never received the attached files, either.

Hello there:

I forgot to ask in my previous post, whether anyone else had the same
problem in not finding the two attached files to this message.

Because, if other list members did get the attached files, then there
might
be a setting on my system which prevented me from receiving the two
attached
files.

Sincerely:

Dave durber

Perhaps, I should test it out on my testing machine?

HI Dave,

Below is the SendSpace Link for the audio sound in Safe Mode .REG file.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/03tej9

I tested it before posting to make sure it works, but if it doesn't work
for

you for whatever reason contact me off list & I'll send you a Dropbox
download link. Take care.

Hi, Curtis.

Did you install the program? Did it work as advertised? Did you
experience
any new problems with your system?

Hi every body
for those of you who repair systems & for those who would find this helpful.

I have attached 2 text files that when you change the extention to .reg & run them they will do the following.

1. Activate Sound in SafeMode
this will add a set of registry keys to the safe mode tree
that will enable audio in safe mode, in both safe mode & safe mode with networking.
Depending on the chipset as to whether the onboard audio will load, how ever the microsoft USB audio will always load, so all you need is a USB headset & use NVDA for the screen reader.
I have used this on many diferent chipsets & so far the onboard audio has loaded, but shore there will be a chipset that wont like to play But as I said the hedset is all you need.
I have used this on XP, W7 32 & 64 bit.

2. remove Activate Sound in SafeMode.
this will as it says remove the registry keys once your done if you want to remove them.

I hope a lot of you find this helpful & please pass this onto all your VIP techy friends.
