MS word 2003: paste using the target document formatting?
Hamid Hamraz
Hi all,
I am looking for a method (preferably key stroke) for pasting what is in clipboard into a word document using the target document's formatting. Any suggestions greatly appreciated! As you know, the Microsoft default is to employ the source document's formatting. To ensure that pasted text takes on the formatting of the target document, do a "Paste Special," using Unicode Text.

Here are the keystrokes in Word 2003: Press Alt plus E to bring up the Edit Menu. Press the letter S to activate the "Paste Special" submenu. Down arrow through the choices until you come to "Unicode Text." Then Press ENTER! Pasted as pure Unicode text, that which you pasted will take on the formatting of the paragraph where you pressed paste. If you want the formatting to match that of a different paragraph, go to that paragraph with the desired formatting. Then, press control plus shift plus C (to copy formatting). Go to the target paragraph and press control plus shift plus V. That will paste the formatting only, not the text. JAWS, in fact, will say "copying formatting" and "pasting formatting," respectively.

Hi Hamid,

You can go to Edit menu, then to paste special; then press enter and select unformatted unicode, or something like that, and the original formatting will be pasted. Regards, Gezim
