Back in the windows 98 and windows malenium, I believe FS recommended 800 by 600 This was with the earlier versions of jaws, However, with XP and 7, this is really not an issue. However, using windows7, I have 1024 by 768 and things seem to work just fine.

eligibility and related information. I think the preferred setting was the proverbial 1024/768. It would be nice (and for all I know, it may be this way) if 7 or some future OS would allow you to adjust this on an app by app basis, just as the last two Microsoft releases have allowed setting access level (user, power user, administrator) on an app by app basis. Of course, this might not be a critical issue for mainstream users, but might be included in accessibility settings. Certainly, one would not want to hobble the resolution just to suit one finicky app. Ted

Subject: jaws resolution Dear list can you explain if when using Jaws 12 or 11 and windows 7 and ms outlook what importance is the resolution, I know it matters in xp, but I get the impression it is not of great importance in windows 7 . The resolution of the screen is not the same is it? I think some have a fixed resolution, thanks Dorothy _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list Jfw@... http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list Jfw@... http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list Jfw@... http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list Jfw@... http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list Jfw@... http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com |

Dave...
Ted,
You mentioned an app to change resolution on the fly. I vaguely recall something that I could put into a batch file to change screen resolution before launching the program, and then change back after the launch. Do you recall what it was called? Dave Carlson From my Dell Latitude 630, currently not nearly close enough for my comfortto my Audio Recording and Mixing Studios, San Francisco Bay Area. But I'll try to remedy that situation. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)" <Ted.Lisle@...> To: "The Jaws for Windows support list." <jfw@...> Sent: Wednesday, July 20, 2011 13:24 Subject: [Bulk] RE: jaws resolution No, that's a rule of thumb.
