moderated Phoneme List for JAWS
Annabelle Susan Morison
Hi, it's
Annabelle.
Out of curiosity,
where would I find the phoneme list for Eloquence? The reason I ask this is
because I am trying to make a specific pronunciation in the dictionary manager,
but it seems regular letters still won't make the new pronunciation sound right
to me. Also, is it possible to make a user lexicon for JAWS? If so, what do I
do?

while it might be possible if there is a file containing the phonemes, I

don't imagine that it would be editable due to the complexity involved in doing so. I realize you tried using the dictionary but the dictionary is the only way of adding custom pronounciations of words that I know of. adding vowels, spaces, doubling letters and capitalizing particular letters can change how certain words are pronounced. to get the closest pronounciation you want, it's really a matter of tweeking the pronounciation. use some program like Notepad and copy and paste the original word twice so you have the correct spelling while you work on the second. it might be challenging but patience will eventually pay off.
