How does windows 11 work with JAWS at this time?
Is it best I wait for a couple or itterations before upgrading?
Thanks,
Justin

Greetings:
No problem using Windows 11 with JAWS. Yes, there are tweaks you need to make and learn, but in the over-all scheme of things, they can be handled.
Kindly,

As long as you are running the December JAWS update you should be fine.

Okay, that works.
I can alos purchase a windows 11 tutorial from Mr. Hardgen..
I'm asking this because I am having serious problems with word, and I've got to upgrade something, either office to the latest version of 16 or 19, and while I'm doing that, I'd might as well consider upgrading the windows also.
I am going to upgrade jaws to 2023 later next year.

Hello Justin:
I suggest upgrading Office first and waiting on Windows 11.

had been using jaws 2021 on windows 10. The only negative I've experienced so far is that with jaws 2023 it does not work with Firefox nearly as well as it did with jws 2021. And this is apparently not a windows 11 thing because I also upgraded my windows 10 laptop to jaws 2023 and it exhibits the same issues. The problems I've had are that jaws 2023 is extremely slow to deal with sites with even moderately large tables (in the range of 25 to 50 rows) and thatjaws 2023 chrashes and restarts extremely frequently when using Firefox. I did not have these problems with jaws 2021 and do not have them if using chrome instead of Firefox. On 12/28/22, Curtis Chong <chong.curtis@...> wrote:

I've been having issues with Firefox too. Since they also had a major update about the same time, I'm not sure which one is the cause. I've been using Edge most of the time.

M365 really is the way to go if you're going to upgrade Office if you intend to keep using it for the long term. I hate the subscription model, but the fact is this is what Microsoft will be supporting, and it is already what the various screen reader developers develop over. Windows 11 has not been problematic in any significant way for any of the screen readers and it's certainly now well past "the bleeding edge" period where it should be avoided. Since I use multiple browsers, I tend to put all of my favorites into a folder as shortcuts. That way, any browser I use will work.
