This may be hard to solve. If you have Microsoft 365, use Open with or SendTo and try opening the PDF in Word. Less likely, try opening it in K1000 if you happen to have that.

what are everyone using to read pdf files
I use Word, which I like for a lot of them. I have that as my default. When I need to change, I use the Open With option on the context menu to switch to Adobe Reader or Chrome.

I have made Word my default PDF reader. I haven't encountered problems, but that of course doesn't mean I won't encounter them. I find it far preferable to Adobe Reader.
