'If you are using Outlook, it has the ability to create rules that would automatically move emails from a particular address into a folder and you can assign a different sound to those messages.
You would want to create a folder first, but this is at a level that would be hard to write out instructions for.
Microsoft accessibility would likely help you with this.
Or maybe someone knows a good online tutorial.

Press CTRL alt and whatever number you want. For example, 1 for heading 1 text and 2 for heading 2 text. You can press the above hotkey either before or after typing your text. Just know that after you type text you want in heading xxx, you have to of course select it before pressing above hotkey.

Madison,
Do you have an Internet connection that is working?
That is, have you tried unplugging and plugging your modem and router?
I'm assuming where you are eMailing from is not the computer in question.
And I wonder if that yearly subscription of Jaws needs a working Internet
connection to work.

to answer your question as another way to restart JAWS, you could press
control+alt+j if you have assigned a hotkey to the desktop shortcut.

also you can press insert+alt+f4 and wait to see if JAWS eventually
restarts. this takes a bit shorter than pressing alt+f4 and then
control+alt+j.

My point was, just don’t plan to update from within the software with Jaws.

NVDA works fine.

Otherwise, the software seems perfectly fine especially if one either cannot, or chooses not to, afford Microsoft’s software.

One can just go to the libre office homepage and download the latest version.

Or ninite as already suggested, if one preefrs that.

While it seems to work fine with Jaws, do not, and I repeat, do not try to check for updates in Libre Office while Jaws is running!

It froze my computer, twice.

I tried it to get to 7.1.03, and I had to have my sighted wife kill the process.

I then tried it with NVDA, and was able to download the newer version and install it from my downloads folder.

After getting 7.1.03 installed with the usual reboot, I checked again for updates with Jaws 2021 running, and had to shut down because I couldn’t kill the process.

I will be writing them some feedback.

I do not use it much, but when I installed it to deal with a particular conversion issue it worked very well.

When you open it, at least for me, you get the following as you tab:

LibreOffice 7.0 checked
Open File Button‑ O
Remote Files Button‑ s
Recent Files button menu‑ R
Templates button menu‑ e
Writer Document Button‑ W
Calc Spreadsheet Button‑ C
Impress Presentation Button‑ I
Draw Drawing Button‑ D
Math Formula Button‑ M
Base Database Button‑ B
Help Button‑ l
Extensions Button‑ x
Recent Files List List box‑

I only played a little with the calc spread sheet and the writer, but given that it is free, it is well worth checking out.

Subject: Audio Bluetooth Sound Setting

Can anyone remember where the setting is for Bluetooth headphones for example that sends constant noise to keep them awake and stop stuttering?

Press insert+6 on the number row.

Press control+shift+d to get the default jaws settings center.

Type blue and arrow down once and you should hear:

2 Search Results List box‑
Avoid speech cut off when using Bluetooth headphones or some sound cards not checked‑

Hit space to check it and hit enter.

Brian, have you ever tried Steve’s talking clock? For you and whoever wants to have a look at it, here is the link to the web site:

I don't know about a JAWS script, but the number of free talking clock programs for Windows, whether through the Microsoft Store or elsewhere, is myriad.  I can find no way to easily make the built-in Windows clock function do what you wish without setting hourly alarms at the top of each hour, during waking hours, and even then it doesn't speak the actual time.

This one, https://www.softpedia.com/get/Windows-Widgets/Alarms-Clocks/Talking-Clock-Igogo.shtml, is one of many that appears to fulfil the need you mention.  Whether it's accessible or not I cannot know.  The way I find out is by downloading and trying with a screen reader.

Yes, it does talk, and it's working pretty good on Jaws 2021. Just a quick
heads-up,
To make it work, you have to compile the file cuckoo.jsb first!

talks I believe.

Hi. Is their such a script that can announce the time at the top of each
hour? If not I wish such a script did. Or better yet a setting in the Alarm
and Clock app in WIN 10 that can do this.

One word: ninite.  Download Libreoffice from there and just run the downloader again when you wish to update.

It froze my computer, twice.

I tried it to get to 7.1.03, and I had to have my sighted wife kill the process.

I then tried it with NVDA, and was able to download the newer version and install it from my downloads folder.

After getting 7.1.03 installed with the usual reboot, I checked again for updates with Jaws 2021 running, and had to shut down because I couldn’t kill the process.

I will be writing them some feedback.

I do not use it much, but when I installed it to deal with a particular conversion issue it worked very well.

When you open it, at least for me, you get the following as you tab:

LibreOffice 7.0 checked
Open File Button‑ O
Remote Files Button‑ s
Recent Files button menu‑ R
Templates button menu‑ e
Writer Document Button‑ W
Calc Spreadsheet Button‑ C
Impress Presentation Button‑ I
Draw Drawing Button‑ D
Math Formula Button‑ M
Base Database Button‑ B
Help Button‑ l
Extensions Button‑ x
Recent Files List List box‑

I only played a little with the calc spread sheet and the writer, but given that it is free, it is well worth checking out.
