Navigating Favorites With Chrome

Dave Mitchell

Hi, What is the most efficient way to quickly access the imported Internet Favorites with Chrome and Windows 10 and JAWS 2018?

I have worked with Chrome a little to get to my saved Website links but I cannot find any keystrokes as simple as with I E 11 so will appreciate some guidance from more experience users.  Thanks, Mitch

Re: jaws and chrome

I think it's difficult to get around Google and if you use Firefox or Edge and still use google.com for searching there isn't probably a lot of difference. I guess you would have to use Firefox and DuckDuckGo or strictly stick with Edge and Bing if you want to cut out Google as much as possible.

There are other reasons not to use Chrome, such as Google's questionable data slurping practices, but speed is definitely not, or should not be anyway, one of them.

Particularly if the guest OS is windows vmware workstation is very nice in that it can put together an unattended installation script (including product key if you provide it). I have had enormous problems getting past that screen with other virtualization products.
And I am not sure whether VMWare Player can accept a product key the way Workstation can.

I've also tried using the MS ADK (assessment and deployment kit) which is supposed to let you create custom install media but the tools are not accessible.

Although honestly, once past install I generally use either remote desktop (if the guest is windows) or an SSH session (for *nix guests) and forget about the VM console entirely.

Audacity 2.3.0

David Bailes

Audacity is a free multi track audio editor, and version 2.3.0 has just been released. One of its new features is punch and roll recording, which enables you to easily correct mistakes immediately after you've made them.
This is a link to the Windows installer:
https://www.fosshub.com/Audacity.html/audacity-win-2.3.0.exe

I've updated my Jaws guide to Audacity to cover this release, and it's available here
http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/Audacity-2.3.0-Guide.html

Note that if you're using the Jaws script for Audacity, some parts of it don't yet work with this latest version of Audacity.
