Richard: I should of focused my question better.

With J2020 and Magic running, as I pulled the mouse pointer over the text in a story panel, Jaws read the contents of that story panel. What enabled Jaws to read that text? There must be a way to enable Jaws to read the text with or without Magic.

I do not have an answer about the newspaper panels, but it sounds like Vispero has reached the point of requiring folks to use Fusion which is Jaws plus ZoomText, rather than continuing Magic support. Of course, you will have to ask Vispero to be sure.



Good morning all: I was very surprised when I first tried to load Magic with jaws 2021. A voice said something like—Sorry, Magic is not compatible with J2021. You must use J2020 or before. Ouch!

 

So this my main problem. In the E edition of my local newspaper I could read the story panels only with Magic running and I would pull the mouse pointer to the story panel and jaws would read the contents of that story panel. I could read those story panels in no other way.

 

I feel certain there is a way to get Jaws to read these panels without Magic running. Any ideas?

Hi all. Just an observation. Have you verified that your Mantice is being seen by the PC. Usually, when you install a braille display, you can see the info in your device manager. Have you checked there? Also, I’m wondering if the Narrator braille is blocking your access to braille. If braille is installed there, it may be interfering with JAWS and any other screen reader for that matter.

I’ve checked, and I am in Structured Mode. I merged my settings from earlier and I’ve checked. I’m using the USB connection. I’ll try Bluetooth on the off-chance, although I doubt it will make a difference. This really is very strange.

Did you export your settings from JAWS 2020 to JAWS 2021? If not then it could still be the structured mode issue. The reason I say this is because I am typing this on my Mantis by using a Bluetooth connection to my pc, JAWS 2021, and Outlook 2016 and all is working just fine.

Actually, I just tried my Focus 40, 4^th gen, and it’s doing the same thing. I’m using Office 365. But when I load JFW 2020 it works perfectly. So it is an issue connected with JFW 2021. I’ve just made certain the Braille Sleep mode is not enabled for Outlook, and it is not.

This sounds very strange. Just a couple of questions. How are you connected to the PC, via usb or Bluetooth? Which version of office are you using? In outlook do you have JAWS speech? What happens on the Mantis display in Outlook—do you see the cursor blinking?

I just had a thought, are you in JAWS braille structured mode for Outlook? That’s one setting that I have missed in the past when setting up a braille display. Outlook doesn’t work well without it.

Has anyone noticed with JAWS 2021, when you boot your computer, or you unload and reload JAWS, it says the word JAWS.

JAWS 2020 says JAWS home edition.

If you alt tab to the JAWS window, then it will say JAWS home edition.

Oh wow, is that so that you can install it on more than three computers or what? Because with the subscription service, you can install it on up to three computers plus if you need to transfer to another computer you can do the exact same thing my dad and I couldn't figure out why I would need the professional version since they pretty much offer the same thing.

The controls you want to access are buttons. Navigate buttons in a couple ways:

JAWS for Windows Navigation Quick Keys B and SHIFT-B

Display a list of buttons CTRL-JAWS KEY-B, select a button, and press ENTER

Here are the steps you need:

1.   Open the Facebook Home Page www.facebook.com

2.   Locate the “What’s on your mind” button and press SPACEBAR to activate it

The new post page opens.

1.   Navigate to the “More” button and press SPACEBAR to activate it

2.   This opens a small dialog with more buttons

3.   Navigate to the “Live Video” button and activate it with SPACEBAR

That opens the Live producer. This is where you can create a live video.

I guess nobody have any answer or suggestion for me.

If so how do you do it step by step ? Because my friend was helping me and I call microsoft disability support on yesterday so my friend can tell support what she see on website to tell them to send me instruction  on google chrome  website !! How to do facebook live:

1. Log in to you facebook account.
2. On  the Home page, keep on pressing  tab until you heard more post option then press enter.
3. Keep on pressing  tab until you hear live video then press enter.
