Accessing Facebook with JAWS using PC.

Justin Mcdevitt

Hello list-members,

Much of the time, I access Facebook with my iPhone. However, I would also like to use this program with my PC, or rather become more proficient. I have identified a number of the keyboard commands specific to JAWS and Facebook, but cannot find the keystroke that allows me to post a message to a specific group.

For anyone here who uses Facebook with JAWS and a PC or laptop, I would appreciate contacting you of-list to go through some of the commands and to identify through discussion some commands that I may not be aware of. On a related note, reviewing the Navigation process would be helpful, drawing on your experience.

I would appreciate any and all assistance.

Blessings to all, Justin

On button in Wikipedia articles

Can anyone tell me what the “on” button is in wikipedia articles? If unchecked, it just says on button. Once it is pressed, it says On button, checked. I can’t see anything change whichever way this button is set.

Re: JAWS Not reading full line with up and down arrows

Ann Byrne

JAWS used to do this if the page wasn’t maximized. Also, if another window was opened, covering the page you are reading.

Hi,

behaving this way. What to do?

JAWS 2018 and WIndows 10 is what I am using.

cannot access evernote using jaws2019

Jessica D <jldail13@...>

Hi,

I want to export all my notes out of evernote, so I can delete my account.

Well, that’s not working.

I just tried to login with google, and had to have sighted assistance, because jaws won’t read it very well.

On top of that, it failed.

What can I do?

I can’t use the website, because tit doesn’t have an export option.

Any suggestions on how to solve this would be very helpfu.

Thanks,

Jessica

1. Have you made sure the screen is maximized?
2. Is some other window open, like an update process or something?
3. If this is on the same computer, how long have you tried to have two versions of word coexisting? That is generally a very bad idea from what I have been told by I.T professionals.

Due to a recent "link breaking" error in the previously posted link, I'm reposting the link to the article itself:  Why you should not use Registry Cleaners and Optimization Tools

Re: Searching for accessible registry cleaners

This will be my only post on this matter, and it's to say, don't bother.

Registry cleaners are virtually useless at best and can cause a lot of system instability at worst.  Microsoft does not recommend their use nor does any "tech geek" group I'm aware of.  Most, in fact, specifically warn against their use.  I shall quote something frequently posted on Bleeping Computer by one of our Global Moderators who's also a security guru:

Bleeping Computer DOES NOT recommend the use of registry cleaners/optimizers for several reasons.

Why you should not use Registry Cleaners and Optimization Tools

Be sure to read Microsoft's support policy for the use of registry cleaning utilities in that topic...Microsoft does not support the use of registry cleaners.

Re: now i have a problem with copying new password from webmail to notepad?

JM Casey

Why do you want to copy the password?
Passwords are designed, normally, so that you can't see them as you type them. I believe that normally you can't just select the text of a password and paste it somewhere else and expect it to just show up. That'd be a pretty huge security risk.

Don't tell me you've forgotten what it actually is?

Hi list members, what I don't understand is why I can't copy a password from web mail to notepad? I tried to copy the password but when I tried to paste it, I noticed that nothing had been copied? Is there another way that I can perform the same action and get the results that I wanted?

Hi,

I'm using JAWS 2019 latest Build, with Office 365/Excel 2016/2019 on a Windows 10 system.

Hope this helps.

It would help if you specified the version and built of Jaws you use.

Hello Listers:
I hope someone can answer this one:
Does anyone know where to change the setting so that when you are moving through a document by headings whether on the web or in a document that when you get to the last heading it doesn't wrap back to the top?
If someone could point me to where to make this change, I would be greatful for your help.

Hi Marty,

I tried this one. It is an online extracter.

http://audio-extractor.net/

From: main@jfw.groups.io I browsed my computer for the the video file then I hit enter on MP3 then press the download button and I got my MP3 file as a download. It played fine. HTH<main@jfw.groups.io> On Behalf Of Marty Hutchings

Does anyone know of a program that can be used to extract audio from a video file that is JAWS friendly?

This is not an advisory.  I don’t know why that is in the subject.  I just hit Enter on the New Topic link at the end of these messages.
