P.S. to Earlier Message about Spotify Podcasts
Rick Miller
Dear Listers:
My niece tells me that in the list of podcast episodes that where you choose the “all episodes,” option, which I know is in a combo box, to the right of that is a button where you can sort the episodes from either newest to oldest or oldest to newest. JAWS cannot seem to find this button. I am really trying to find out about this, so if any of you have ever used Spotify with JAWS will you please get back to me.

Re: uninstalling Open Book?

Hi,
Do not uninstall shared components. They are insignificant and won’t harm anything if you leave them. You won’t gain anything at all by removing them.

Re: Adjusting JAWS volume
Gezim Rexha
Hello all,
Further to my issue, finally I realized that what is causing the volume change on my PC is something called Dolby Audio, which all of the sudden and all the time gets turned off. Any idea how to resolve this issue?
With best wishes, Gezim

Bill,
Doesn’t work for me, it simply moves volume up and down, same as left and right arrow. I have to hit application key then arrow down to mixer. Don’t understand why all systems don’t work the same

Hi, Alan. If you press ENTER on the Speakers icon in System Tray, there should be no need to press the Applications key. Arrowing down should reveal the Open Volume Mixer option.

I had the same problem. I think Bill met hit the applications key, then arrow down. I did this and got to where he indicated.

Hi Bill,
Yes, I am running Windows 10, but when I pressed enter on Speakers, I did not see volume mixer. It said something like “speakers real teque high definition audio”, and volume left-right slider, one of one. When tabbing, the only option was “mute toggle check box not checked”.
I hope you will be able to explain this issue.
Best, Gezim

Hi, Jezim. If you're running Windows 10, to adjust JAWS volume,
1. Look for the Speakers icon in System Tray, and press ENTER. 2. Arrow down to Volume Mixer, and press ENTER. 3. TAB to the Volume for JAWS for Windows FSSynth32 COM object slider, and adjust as desired. 4. TAB to the Volume for Application file for JAWS slider, and also adjust as desired. 5. This should set JAWS to its highest setting for the level for which you have the speakers set.

Hi list,
For some reason, suddenly JAWS volume on my PC was lowered; I went to system tray and increased the speaker from 16 to 26 and now I can hear it better, but after restarting PC, I found JAWS volume on log on screen to high as set on 26, but after signing in, the unchanged set volume was still lower.
I tried experiencing this after upgrading JAWS, but I believe it is a coincidence.
Perhaps I was not able to explain the issue properly, so please feel free to ask me for clarifications.
Thank you in advance, Gezim

Most likely yes. It does not hurt to leave the shared components, and you will save yourself much grief.

Re: JAWS accessible navigation for Netflix videos.
Lino Morales
Well JAWS is not the best way to use Netflix on the PC. You need
to use Narrator assuming you have WIN 10. You neeed to enable scan
mode by pressing incert plus space to navagate the app. To rewind,
fastforward, and pause you use left and right arrows and spacebar
to pause. HTH.

Hello all,
Does someone have a list of keyboard commands for Netflix? I am primarily interested in the playback commands, pause, skip forward, etc., but any others would be much appreciated.

I suppose you could try uninstalling and reinstalling it, removing all of its data files in the process. If you would lose data by doing this, then it's probably an issue for Amazon support. I suspect its configuration or data files have been corrupted, and you may well just have to reinstall.

When I went out to the HP site to see if the full driver was available I also noticed that particular printer has a firmware update also available. You may want to consider upgrading the firmware on the printer to make sure that it is running at its optimal performance.

As far as Kindle for PC, I launched it, it did an update, and all is working as it should with Jaws 2020.

The library is there, selecting a book is good, and reading the text works fine, therefore, maybe check for updates?

If any of you use Spotify with JAWS, can you tell me how to adjust podcast settings so that podcasts will play in ascending, not descending, order.
