Hi Anne,

I used Sales force in a previous job, only for a short while though. I think
I remember it being a web browser based software. I didn't have any
problems using it with jaws, it seemed to work fine. We mainly used it for
recording data of clients/customers , keeping track of outstanding work and
new incoming sales leads. It was a few years back though, so I don't
remember it fully and not sure we used all aspects of sales force, but like
I said the bits I did use I had no problems with jaws.

1.       Press the Windows Key to open the start menu.

2.       Type Narrator in the start search edit box and press Enter. Narrator opens with Microsoft Anna as the default voice.

Also be aware that Narrator as it exists prior to Windows 8/8.1 is not the Narrator you're used to in Windows 8/8.1 or 10.

I believe that even back in Windows 7 one enables/disables the ability to use whatever the built-in keyboard toggle for Narrator in Ease of Access settings, and what it is should be documented there.  It will need to be turned on.

Especially for those of us who are multi-lingual and deal with foreign
pronouns and all sorts of other words that don't require switching over to a
different language or if we simply want the dictionary change to take affect
across all applications and not just a specific one, you can fill those
entries up fast.
If the JAWS dictionary supported partial word entries, like every other pronunciation dictionary does, we could reduce the number of entries dramatically rather than duplicate the same strings found in partial words. For instance, the suffix skaya is the feminine version of Ski in Russian surnames. With a partial word entry for Skaya, I wouldn't have to add entries for every Russian surnam ending in that suffix. One partial word entry would take care of them all.

Hi, Laura. There isn’t one shortcut in Windows 7 to turn on Narrator. Try the following:

1. Press Windows key plus U

2. Press ALT plus N.

3. Press ENTER.

I think that is only windows 10.
Windows U will bring up all accessibility programs, and alt + N sets it for Narrator.
Or you can do windows + R
and type in narrator and press enter.

I am using Office 365 an I am also on the Office Insider program and I have no problems with it, I use Excel all day long.

Your problem was probably another one which got fixed with the reinstall of Office.

Hi Jessica,

If you are using Office 365, you may be using the web version. If so, you need to download the desktop version. A quick way to know which version you are using is to hit the Windows key, type in Excel, then hit the applications key. If you do not hear “open file location”after down arrowing through the choices, you have the web version. You will need to go to Office.com, and log in with your Office account and download the desktop version.

If you are not using Office 365, then you have a different problem.

I was using an insider build, but once I went to the official version, the issues were all fixed.

It all depends on why you can't edit it.  If it is protected, you have to turn that off.  Another thing I've found that made things get really weird is if you accidentally have scroll lock turned on, in which case it might seem like you can't edit because moving the cursor around doesn't seem to do anything.

Do you get any messages about protection when you open the spreadsheet, have you pressed f6 to see what might be going on in the other areas?  Btw, what version of office are we talking about here?
